Dan Rowan-Cortright is the Founder and Lead Attorney of The Rowan Firm. With more than 25 years of comprehensive civil litigation experience, he established the firm with a clear purpose: to safeguard families, protect businesses, and help clients secure their futures with confidence.
His background spans insurance defense, personal injury and products liability plaintiff representation, breach of contract, consumer rights, discrimination, construction, landlord-tenant matters, and complex business disputes, among other areas. This breadth of experience equips him to anticipate risk, navigate challenges strategically, and advocate effectively for individuals and business owners seeking long-term stability and protection.
Dan’s commitment to justice and principled advocacy was shaped by his studies in political science at the University of California, Los Angeles and further refined at the University of San Francisco School of Law. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for thoughtful counsel, strategic litigation, and steadfast dedication to the clients he serves.
At the heart of Dan’s practice is the belief that strong legal guidance provides more than resolution; it provides peace of mind. He partners closely with clients to protect what they have built, minimize risk, and develop durable solutions that support both present needs and future generations.
Outside the office, Dan is an avid cyclist and lifelong athlete who values discipline, perseverance, and teamwork — qualities that inform both his legal practice and his leadership. As former captain of the UCLA cycling team and his high school cross-country and track teams, he developed a deep respect for preparation, resilience, and collaboration, along with leadership skills that continue to serve him in his legal career. A lover of the outdoors, he finds renewal in nature and approaches life with intentionality and gratitude.
Dan shares a joyful life with his wife and business partner, Kat Rowan Cortright. Together, they are raising their two sons while building a family-centered practice rooted in stewardship, integrity, and long-term vision.

Co-Founder & Operations ConsultantKat Rowan-Cortright is the Co-Founder and Operations Consultant of The Rowan Firm. She holds a Master’s degree in International Human Rights Law from The American University in Cairo and a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology, bringing a deep appreciation for family systems, community dynamics, and long-term stewardship to the firm’s foundation.
Kat provides strategic support in operations, planning, and marketing, helping ensure the firm runs efficiently and remains aligned with its mission of safeguarding your family, your business, and your future. Her background in nonprofit development and leadership strengthens community relationships and fosters partnerships grounded in service, integrity, and thoughtful planning.
Through intentional operational oversight and strategic support, Kat helps maintain the strong foundation that enables the firm to serve clients with clarity and purpose. As a dedicated mother of two boys, she understands firsthand the importance of protecting family, building stability, and planning for the future — values that shape both her home life and her work with The Rowan Firm. Together with her husband, Dan Rowan-Cortright, Founder and Lead Attorney of The Rowan Firm, she is proud to build both a family and a practice rooted in stewardship, partnership, and long-term vision.
